Slate is ideal for creating stunning contrast at the table, especially when placed against a crisp, white linen cloth or on a light, solid wood board. This slate from Olympia has been treated with varnish to ensure it repels water and oil. Another advantage of the treatment with varnish is that the slate will not absorb flavours or odour from food such as cheese selections, meaning you won't have to worry about any flavours carrying across to your next dish. After use, simply wipe clean with a mild detergent and avoid submersing in water.
